The Teapot Show

September 22 - October 21, 2018 ~ Campbell Pottery Store, 25579 Plank Rd., Cambridge Springs PA

Tea is an ancient beverage, developed in China, and now found around the world. Teapots followed the tea, and appear in many different cultures and nations. Brewing tea and pouring tea is an art of sorts, and was once a time to gather with others and share the news of the day.

Our 30 participating artists are introducing a variety of interpretations of art about tea in their chosen media. There are recognizable 3-D teapots and cups, 2-D images of tea items, and quirky works that defy labeling. Whether functional, sculptural, altered, or imagined, teapots have a wide range of personality injected into the form by the creativity of the artist/maker.

During the opening, we will be serving a "taste" of iced tea by Piper and Leaf Artisan Tea Company. This is a family business in Alabama that grows, dries, and packages the own teas, which is another kind of art/craft to share.

Opening reception on Saturday, September 22nd, 1-3pm, in the Stonewall Gallery.
