A Downton Abbey Summer

Are you a fan of Downton Abbey? We are and this summer you can get your fill at the Baldwin-Reynolds House. We will be having a special Downton themed raffle with an actor autographed photo, Seasons 1 through 3 of the hit show on DVD and more in a special basket you could win! Tickets go on sale April 4th at the Mark Russell Reception and will be $1 each with a winner to be drawn the last night of the exhibit on August 10th. Abbey Attire: The Fashions of Downton Abbey
June 22 - Aug 10, 2013 ~ Baldwin-Reynolds House Museum, 639 Terrace St., Meadville PA
Are you a fan of the hit show Downton Abbey? The museum has an extensive clothing collection and within it, many items from the "Downton Era" (1890 - 1920's.) We would love to share them with you! This season's summer exhibit will be a fashion show of ladies and men's clothes for all seasons throughout the mansion with special events to tie in. Exhibit hours will be June 1 through August 10th from 12-4pm. Admission cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

Lily Festival Juried Art Show

The Marvelous Wonderettes

The Marvelous Wonderettes takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet the Wonderettes, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! Titusville Oil Festival

A "Downton" Concert at the Baldwin-Reynolds House
August 10, 2013 ~ 639 Terrace St., Meadville PA
Families like those in "Downton" entertained themselves and others through means other than television and radio. Just like the concert to entertain the troops during World War I seen on season 2 of Downton Abbey, we will be presenting a concert of "Downton Era" music in the library. Local singers will be entertaining just as the Crawley sisters did with our recently repaired Chickering Square Grand Piano. Those in attendance will feel transported back in time as they are entertained right alongside WWI troops. Light refreshments will be served. Tickets cost $8 each and can be purchased by calling or emailing the museum at museum@baldwinreynolds.org

Murder Mystery Mayhem: "Slay 'em Again, Sam"

You and your group are in the audience at DiPlace for Murder theatre, attending their "Dinner with the Detectives" series, a murder mystery show where you dine with the world's greatest literary detectives while they solve the murder of their mysterious host. When a "real" dead body is discovered in the theatre's kitchen, the evening takes on an edgy twist as the actors try to unravel the dastardly plot going on behind the scenes. Unfortunately, one of them is planning an encore that will drop the curtain early on someone's life. See if you can out-sleuth the sleuths and find the culprit who is slaying them in the aisles....and on the stage!

"Muster in the Park": A Civil War Encampment
August 31 & September 1, 2013 ~ Diamond Park, Meadville PA
Join us as we travel back in time to the 1860's and commemorate the enlistment of our area "boys in blue" that took place at this location over 150 years ago! There will be period music, uniformed soldiers, cooking demonstrations, blacksmithing, period dancing and much more!
